Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your relationship with CrestView Standard Bank and outline the rights and responsibilities of both parties. Please read them carefully.

Account Opening & Maintenance

These terms govern the opening, maintenance, and use of all accounts with CrestView Standard Bank ("the Bank"). By opening an account with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Important Account Requirements

To open and maintain an account with CrestView Standard Bank, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (or meet specific requirements for youth accounts)
  • Provide valid government-issued identification
  • Supply proof of current address
  • Maintain a minimum opening deposit as specified for your account type
  • Agree to electronic communication for account-related matters

The Bank reserves the right to:

  • Accept or decline any application for an account at our sole discretion
  • Require additional documentation or verification at any time
  • Limit account features or services based on risk assessment
  • Close any account that violates these terms or applicable laws
Joint Accounts
All account holders are jointly and severally liable for the account. Each account holder has full authority to operate the account independently unless otherwise specified in writing.
Business Accounts
Business account holders must provide incorporation documents, business licenses, and authorized signatory lists. Personal guarantees may be required from directors or owners.

Banking Services & Transactions

This section outlines the terms governing our banking services, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payment services.

Transaction Processing

All transactions are subject to verification and may be delayed or refused at the Bank's discretion. The Bank reserves the right to:

  • Place holds on deposited funds as specified in our Funds Availability Policy
  • Require additional verification for large or unusual transactions
  • Refuse any transaction that appears suspicious or violates applicable laws
  • Set daily, weekly, or monthly transaction limits for security purposes
Processing Times & Cutoffs

Transactions received after 4:00 PM on business days or on weekends/holidays will be processed on the next business day. International transfers may take 2-5 business days to complete.

Payment Services

When you authorize payments from your account, you agree that:

  • You have sufficient funds available at the time of authorization
  • The Bank may charge fees for returned or rejected payments
  • Recurring payments will continue until you cancel the authorization
  • You are responsible for keeping your payment information current

Fees, Charges & Interest

All fees, charges, and interest rates are detailed in our separate Fee Schedule, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

Important Fee Information

You authorize the Bank to deduct all applicable fees, charges, and interest from your account. If your account has insufficient funds to cover fees, the Bank may:

  • Charge the fee to an overdraft facility if available
  • Apply the fee to a linked account
  • Suspend account services until fees are paid
  • Close the account with outstanding fees

Fee changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.

Interest Calculations

Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly unless otherwise specified. The Bank may change interest rates with 30 days' notice. Special promotional rates may have specific terms and expiration dates.

Digital Banking Services

Our digital banking services, including online banking and mobile applications, are subject to these additional terms.

Your Security Responsibilities

When using digital banking services, you agree to:

  • Keep your login credentials confidential and secure
  • Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication
  • Log out after each session and not use public computers for banking
  • Notify the Bank immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
  • Keep your contact information current for security alerts

Service Availability

The Bank strives to maintain 99.8% digital service availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, system updates, or unforeseen circumstances may cause temporary service interruptions.

Electronic Communications

By using our digital services, you consent to receive electronic communications, including statements, notices, and disclosures. You are responsible for ensuring your email and contact information remain current.

Security, Liability & Fraud Protection

This section outlines security protocols, liability limitations, and fraud protection policies.

  • You may be liable for unauthorized transactions if you fail to meet security responsibilities

Account Closure & Termination

Either party may terminate the account relationship in accordance with these terms.

Customer-Initiated Closure

You may close your account at any time by:

  • Visiting a branch with valid identification
  • Submitting a written request through secure messaging
  • Following the account closure process in digital banking

All outstanding balances and fees must be settled before closure. Any remaining funds will be transferred to your nominated account.

Bank-Initiated Closure

The Bank may close your account with 30 days' written notice if:

  • You violate these Terms & Conditions
  • The account is used for illegal or fraudulent activity
  • You provide false or misleading information
  • The account poses a security risk
  • The account remains inactive for an extended period

Disputes, Complaints & Governing Law

This section outlines the process for resolving disputes and complaints.

Complaint Resolution Process

We aim to resolve all complaints fairly and promptly:

  1. Step 1: Contact our Customer Service team within 30 days of the issue
  2. Step 2: If unresolved, escalate to our Complaints Department
  3. Step 3: For unresolved complaints, contact the Financial Ombudsman Service

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, or major system failures.

Acceptance of Terms

By using CrestView Standard Bank's services, opening an account, or continuing to use existing accounts, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
